Why is pothos good for beginners?
Pothos is a strong plant. It can live in many different places and does not need too much work. Even if you never had a plant before, you can keep pothos healthy by doing a few simple things.
Important tips to take care of pothos
1. Light
Pothos likes medium to low light. Direct sunlight can burn its leaves. So, put it near a window but not in direct sun.
2. Water
Pothos likes the soil to be a little wet but not too wet. Water it when the top 2-3 cm of the soil is dry. Too much water can hurt the roots.
3. Temperature and humidity
Pothos grows best at 18 to 24 degrees Celsius (about 65 to 80 Fahrenheit). It likes some humidity, so if the air is dry, spray water on its leaves.
4. Food for the plant
From spring to fall, give pothos plant food –liquid fertilizer– once a month. This helps it grow better.
5. Change pot and soil
Every 1 or 2 years, change the soil and pot. This gives the roots more space to grow.
Warning signs
